Chittagong University Cultural Alliance organized Pitha Utsab-2026. The event was held at the Buddhijibi Chattar of Chittagong University on Sunday (February 1).
The cultural alliance is formed by Chittagong University’s cultural organization Angon, Lokaj Cultural Organization, Chittagong University Recitation Platform, and Prothom Alo Bondhushava. The event was organized through their joint initiative. Additionally, ‘Bhinnasharaj, Chittagong University’ participated in this year’s event as an invited organization.
In this day-long event, the organizations sold various types of traditional pithas prepared by themselves at 5 stalls. The cultural program started in the evening. The cultural evening became lively with various programs including solo and group songs, dances, and recitations. The organizations performed a total of 27 performances. Apart from the organizing bodies, indigenous students’ cultural organization ‘Rodedevu’ also participated in the cultural program.
Joint General Secretary of cultural organization Angon, Zulkar Rain Zakaria said, ‘We have organized today’s Pitha Utsab together with 5 organizations. Thanks to everyone’s sincere efforts, such a beautiful event was possible without any difficulties. Due to some complications, although the cultural program was supposed to start in the afternoon, it was postponed to the evening. Finally, I express sincere gratitude to all members of Chittagong University Cultural Alliance for making this event successful.’
