Central committee approves removal over breach of organizational discipline
Shahriar Uddin Fahad, Communication Affairs Secretary of Chittagong University branch Chhatra Dal, has been expelled from his organizational position for posting praise about Hasnat Abdullah, Member of Parliament for Cumilla-4 (Debidwar) and Chief Organizer of NCP’s Southern Region.
The expulsion was announced on Saturday (February 28) afternoon in a statement signed by Jahangir Alam, Office Secretary of Central Chhatra Dal.
The statement said Shahriar Uddin Fahad has been expelled from his position based on specific allegations of breaching organizational discipline. The decision was approved by Chhatra Dal’s Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.
According to party sources, on February 13, Shahriar Uddin Fahad posted praise for Hasnat Abdullah from his Facebook account. In the post, he wrote, “Whatever the party or opinion, there is no denying that the boys of Debidwar now want to be Hasnat.” When the matter spread on social media, it created criticism within party circles.
On this matter, Abdullah Al Noman, General Secretary of the university branch Chhatra Dal, said, “We are members of a political organization. There is organizational discipline here. If someone engages in activities contrary to the party or breaks discipline, the organization can take organizational action against them.”
