CU CORRESPONDENT
A first-year Anthropology student of Chittagong University, Jibok Chakma (20), has died from a suspected stroke. He was declared dead at Chittagong Medical College Hospital at 9:20 am on Sunday.
Abdullah Hossain, a police constable of Chittagong medical college Hospital confirmed his death.
He suddenly fell ill while sitting at his study table in the morning. He was first taken to the university medical center, and later shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital on doctors’ advice when his condition worsened.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mohammad Abu Tayyab said he was brought to the medical center around 7:45 am, with no visible injury marks, and doctors could not immediately diagnose his condition. Assistant proctor of University of Chittagong, Nurul Hamid Kanon said Jibok Chakma was first taken to the university medical center after suddenly feeling unwell this morning. Later he was declared dead in the Chittagong medical college hospital.
Jibok Chakma was son of Robilendu Chakma, who is a resident of Ramhari Para in Naniarchar upazila of Rangamati. According to sources, he was normal until the previous day, and his death is primarily believed to have been caused by a stroke.
