Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chatra Dal (JCD), Chittagong University (CU) unit, planted neem trees on the CU campus to mark the 45th death anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman.
The programme was led by Jalal Siddiquee, joint general secretary of CU JCD. Speaking on the occasion, he said the neem trees were planted as a symbol of purity in memory of Ziaur Rahman. He also expressed hope that the initiative would contribute to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman’s goal of planting 250 million trees across the country.
Also present were joint general secretaries Monirul Islam Himel and Shahab Uddin, assistant general secretaries Abu Huzaifa Sayem and Mahabubul Hasan, assistant drama secretary and Artist Rashid Chowdhury Hostel Students Union’s Health and Housing secretary Jamil Hossain, along with Zakir Hossain, Swajan Sarkar and others.
