Chittagong University’s Sanatan Bidyarthi Sangsad has a new committee for the 2026-27 academic session. The announcement was made on July 6 by Sanatan Bidyarthi Sangsad Bangladesh. Dilip Das, a student of the 2021-22 session of the Pharmacy department, has been made president, while Abir Dutta, a student of the 2021-22 session of the Sanskrit department, has taken over as general secretary.

The organization first emerged in 2016 through a Rath Yatra event at the university. It stayed active until 2021, working on education, organizational growth, and religious and cultural activities for Sanatani students. The Covid pandemic and the situations that followed disrupted its regular work for years. After a long stretch of effort from students who wanted the organization back, the new committee now marks its return.

Following the announcement, the organization’s founder, Dr. Kushal Baran Chakrabarty, an assistant professor of the Sanskrit department, congratulated the new committee members and urged everyone to work together for the welfare of Sanatani students.

General Secretary Abir Dutta said the organization is more than just a student body, calling it a platform for unity, leadership, and positive initiatives among Sanatani students at the university. He added that they plan to work sincerely to make the organization more active through responsible and constructive programs centered on education, culture, and student welfare.

President Dilip Das said he believes education, ethics, unity, and human values form the foundation of a good society. He said the organization will keep working to build cultural practice, social responsibility, and cooperation among Sanatani students, and that with everyone’s support, they are committed to creating a harmonious and value-driven campus.

As its first official program, the new committee plans to celebrate Rath Yatra at the university on July 16. The organization has called on Sanatani students to join the celebration.
