Professional mental health support now available at university medical centre
PsychTalks, a mental health organization, has launched counseling services for Chittagong University students at the University Medical Centre, offering free professional mental health support to the campus community.
The counseling sessions are being conducted by Mithila Farjana Haque, a trainee counselor and associate member of PsychTalks.
The initiative aims to create a safe space where students can express themselves, feel heard, and receive support for their mental health concerns. The service is designed to help students navigate stress, anxiety, academic pressure, and other challenges they may face during university life.
The counseling unit is located at the University of Chittagong Medical Centre. Sessions are completely free for CU students, while affordable rates are available for others who wish to use the service.
The counselor provides support for various mental health issues, helping students work toward a healthier and more balanced life. Whether students need someone to listen, require emotional support, or seek guidance for specific concerns, the service offers a confidential and supportive environment.
The launch of dedicated counseling services reflects growing awareness about mental health issues among university students. Academic pressure, social challenges, and life transitions can significantly impact students’ well-being, making professional support increasingly important.
Mental health professionals emphasize that seeking counseling is a sign of strength, not weakness, and encourage students to utilize available resources without hesitation.
Students and others interested in booking counseling sessions can visit the PsychTalks website at https://psychtalks.github.io/Book-a-session/ for more information and appointment scheduling.
The availability of on-campus counseling services represents an important step in supporting student welfare and promoting mental health awareness at Chittagong University.
PsychTalks’ initiative demonstrates the organization’s commitment to making mental health support accessible and affordable for the student community.
