In a gesture of student solidarity, the Chittagong University (CU) Chhatra Dal Jalal Siddiquee leader has stepped forward to support a schoolgirl in Banshkhali whose education was halted by the recent devastating floods in South Chattogram.
The beneficiary, Sanjida, a sixth-grade student at Chanuwa Kaderia High School in Banshkhali upazila, suffered severe losses as floodwaters submerged her home, completely destroying her textbooks and essential learning materials. Her plight gained widespread attention after being broadcast on Jamuna Television, prompting swift reactions across social media platforms.
Upon learning of her situation, Jalal Siddiquee, Joint General Secretary of the CU Chhatra Dal unit, initiated an effort to stand by the young student. On his behalf, leaders from the Banshkhali Upazila Chhatra Dal visited Sanjida and officially handed over a fresh set of textbooks, school supplies, and gifts to help her resume her studies.
Highlighting the need for collective action, Jalal Siddiquee emphasized that the severe flooding has caused extensive damage throughout South Chattogram, particularly in Banshkhali, requiring citizens from all walks of life to participate in rehabilitation efforts. “As a student and a student leader, this is a small attempt to stand by a student sister. I hope these educational materials will help her continue her education smoothly,” he added.
