The free Artificial Intelligence (AI) course ‘AI Navigator-2026′ has been inaugurated at Chittagong University (CU). At the inaugural ceremony held on Tuesday morning (February 3) at 10:30 AM in the Faculty of Business Administration auditorium, a memorandum of understanding was signed between both organizations to continue this program for the next three years.

The course has been launched through a joint initiative of UK-based charity organization Send a Little Hope, Chittagong University, CU Institute Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Office for International Affairs (OIA), and Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU). Students, teachers, officers, and staff of the university can participate in this course.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamal Uddin and Chief Executive Officer of Send a Little Hope, Mujahidul Islam, were present as special guests. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Shahab Uddin, Director of OIA at Chittagong University.

Also present at the event were CU IQAC Director Professor Dr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, IQAC Additional Director Professor Dr. Mohammad Moslem Uddin, Professor of CSE Department at Military Institute of Science and Technology Dr. Mohammad Ashraful Islam, Send a Little Hope Country Director Sadman Sakib Chowdhury, and teachers and students from various departments and institutes of the university.

In his speech as chief guest, CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar said, “The future is certainly the era of artificial intelligence. Those who can develop skills in managing artificial intelligence will lead the world in the coming days.” He expressed gratitude to Send a Little Hope-UK for organizing such training for university students.

CU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamal Uddin highly praised the initiative, saying, “This is a very timely initiative. AI will govern the future world. Everyone needs to have knowledge about it.” He called upon everyone to use its benefits for the country and nation.

At the inaugural ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Send a Little Hope, Mujahidul Islam, gave a presentation on AI Navigator-2026. He highlighted how AI is transforming the current technological world.

Only 50 students can enroll in each session of the course. Each course will have a total of four modules and will be held over 5-6 weeks. The course will have 8 live sessions with practical projects after each session. Not only students from the Faculty of Science, but students from all faculties can take this AI course. The top 5 projects will be exhibited at the international level after the course ends. After completing this approximately two-month course, general students will have opportunities for industrial collaboration.
