Chittagong University’s Bashundhara Shuvosangho held its first general meeting on Wednesday at the Shaheed Minar premises. The meeting was attended by the organisation’s president, general secretary and other members of the newly formed committee.
During the meeting, responsibilities were assigned to different members and the annual work plan was discussed in detail.
The main topics discussed included standing beside street children by organising the first iftar with orphans and street children and distributing iftar items to them.
The organisation also plans to run anti-drug campaigns and undertake special initiatives for environmental protection to raise social awareness. For education and skill development, the organisation will arrange personal development training and basic law sessions for students. To increase awareness, the organisation will publish posters and magazines, and organise quiz and essay competitions. The committee also decided to hold monthly general meetings, ensure financial transparency and keep members connected. Other plans include indoor sports, seminars, tours and various events for students’ skill development.
President Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa said, “Active participation from everyone is necessary to successfully complete all the good work of the organisation in the coming days. We are hopeful that you will provide your maximum cooperation.”
General Secretary Shahriar Munim Sabit said, “We need to plan our future activities in such a way that we can improve our personal skills and at the same time fulfill our social responsibilities.”
