Initiative aims to ensure student safety and immediate assistance

Chittagong University launched a 24/7 emergency helpline service on Saturday morning at the campus in collaboration with the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU).

The service was inaugurated at 10:00am by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin as chief guest.

Also present at the inauguration were Fazle Rabbi Towhid, law and human rights secretary of CUCSU, Sohanur Rahman Sohan, executive member of CUCSU, Abdul Ahad, acting chief engineer of CU, and other concerned engineers and officials of the university.

Speaking at the event, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin said, “This 24/7 emergency helpline will ensure the safety and emergency services of students and will help improve the quality of services on campus. I hope students will use this facility properly and it will assist them in their daily lives.”

Through this 24/7 emergency helpline service, students can receive necessary emergency information and services at any time on any day of the week. The helpline will provide various important services including medical services, proctor’s office, security department, engineering office, ICT cell and admission test-related information.

University administration and CUCSU representatives expressed hope that this initiative will play an important role in ensuring immediate assistance to students as well as improving the quality of services on campus.
